In my kitchen, I have a wooden butcher block. You’ll probably have seen me preparing food on this wooden surface in my cooking and baking videos. As you can probably tell, this butcher block gets a lot of use. To care for my work surface, I prefer to use non-toxic solutions to clean and organic substances to add shine. This method works for all wooden surfaces so I hope you find it useful!
All you’ll need is warm water, washing up liquid, a steel wool pad and a generous amount of cooking oil.
1. Combine the washing up liquid and the warm water. With the steel wool, scrub in a circular motion.
2. Dry with a towel.
3. With yours hands rub in the oil.
