Autumn Leaves are a fantastic little craft that can serve multiple purposes over the autumn months. You can use them in autumn garlands, indoor hangings or decorations for cushions and bags. You can even use these leaves as part of a Halloween Wreath. It all depends on which colour you choose to make them with. Have fun experimenting with these sweet and simple autumn delights!
You’ll need:
Sheets of coloured felt fabric.
Needle and Thread
Sharp Scissors.
Colourful Buttons.
To make these leaves, start off by printing out one of my leaf templates.
Lay the template down on a sheet of felt, trace around and cut out.
With a needle and thread, sew from the base of the leave to the sharp point at the end. Add extra stitches outwards to get the full vein effect.
Cut a small length of felt, I used a brown ‘branch’ colour. Fold it over and place each end on each side of the leaf’s base. Place a button on top and sew the button on to stitch the leaf and the branch together.
I hung my leaves on small branches in a vase. Such a lovely effect, don’t you think?
