Homemade Gift: Bath Bombs

Homemade Bath Bombs are a truly wonderful gift to make for loved ones. What’s nicer than giving someone the gift of relaxation? With the right staple ingredients you can be as creative as you like with a variety of scents and colours of your choice. Why not try creating a ‘marble’ effect with your colouring by adding it in separately? I hope you try making this gift, even if it’s a treat for yourself!

Step 1: Blend the dry ingredients thoroughly. It’s very important that these ingredients are blended together well. Break up any lumps and continue to combine well.

Step 2: In a glass, mix together all the liquid ingredients and combine well. For a marble effect, leave out the colouring and add at a later stage. Pour your liquid ingredients into your dry mix very slowly. Too much and your mix will begin to fizz!

Step 3: When your mixture is slightly damp, add the colouring now dashing the liquid over and around. Now try molding with your hands. If it forms a wet sandy ball, then it’s ready to go.

Step 4: Time is of the essence! You must be quick to begin transferring the mixture into your half ball moulds otherwise the mixture will harden. Slightly overfill each half ball and place one on top of the other.

Step 5: Leave in the moulds for a few minutes and then tap out and leave to dry.

Step 6: When sufficiently hardened, wrap in plastic wrapping and tie together with a ribbon. The perfect homemade gift!
