Jack the caped crusader!

The weather was glorious today. It was clear and bright and the air felt fresh and crisp. We were just heading out for a beach walk when the post man arrived.

My mother sent a parcel from American full of Halloween goodies. With Max in the buggy ready to go and Gracie holding her favourite tennis ball for the lawns, we quickly had a rummage through the box. Candy corn! Hooray! Hand sewn matching aprons for us, lovely!! Vintage halloween table linens. Fab!! Included was aslo a red cape for Jack. He hasn’t taken it off since.

So sneaky peek complete, we walked to the beach, with Jack the caped crusder speeding along on his trike with the cape flapping in the breeze behind him. He added ‘for disguise’  his favorite red heart shaped sunglasses, bless.

Everyone we passed burst into giggles but he was oblivious to how ridiculous he looked. He wore his cape with pride and beamed with confidence as if he was truly a superhero out to save the world.

Some days he just melts my heart. I think every age he is at is just the perfect age and I still think it. Five is really cool. He’s smart and clever, but he is still happy to hold my hand or to wear a cape and ride his trike off into the sunset.
