These Lavender Scented Fabric Hearts are both beautiful and practical! Display them around your home- in your kitchen, living room and even your wardrobe- to release the wonderful Lavender fragrance and help keep those pesky moths at bay! Shop bought lavender sachets can be expensive and they just aren’t as attractive as my fabric hearts! They are very easy to make and the scent will last for a long time.
All you’ll need:
20 x 20 inch sheet of Fabric.
1 handfull of Dried Lavender
1 cup Rice
Needle, thread, sharp scissors.
Step 1: Fold your sheet of fabric in half and cut out a heart shape. Print off one of my Heart Templates if you need.
Step 2: Lay the outside sides of the fabric against each other- we’ll turn them right side out later. Starting from the lower left side stitch around the top of the heart about 1/4 inch in.
Step 3: Now fold inside out. In a bowl, mix together the lavender and Rice. Stuff the heart with Lavender and Rice. Stitch up the remaining seams and cut any loose thread.
Step 4: Cut a 3 inch x 1/ inch length of fabric and fold in half. Stitch this to the top centre of the heart. Now you’re hearts are ready to release their wonderful lavender fragrance!
