Matzo Ball Soup

Matzo Ball Soup is another great comfort food and it’s really easy to make. The smell of Matzo Ball Soup wafting through my house means my family just show up out of the blue demanding to know when it’ll be ready!



Matzo Ball Soup

Serves: 2-4
  • 1 Packet Matzo Ball Soup Mix
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/2 Litre Water
  • Handful Eggs Noodles
  1. Pour the Matzo Ball Mix packet into a bowl and add 1/3 cup oil and add 2 eggs.
  2. Combine well until a smooth batter.
  3. Place in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  4. For the broth, in pan of water add the packet of Matzo ball Broth mix, stir and place on the stove on a medium heat.
  5. Remove the batter from the fridge and with wet hands, form small balls and place into the pan of broth.
  6. Leave to simmer for 20 minutes adding egg noddles after 15 minutes if you prefer!
  7. After 20 minutes, eat them before the rest of your family get home

    When I went to a seder last year as an undergrad, the family hid the afikomen even though no one was under 18. The guests searched half-heartedly, but the actual daughters of the hosts searched frantically (ages 18, 18, 22 respectively) because they knew that the prize was like $50 or something.
